"Let heaven in and surround yourself with everything positive", instructed Fr. Bobong, the priest whom I recently counseled with. Times have been tough on my emotions lately and to hear an advice to more than just pray was refreshing. Fr. Bobong gave me a new perspective on prayer.
So, just when I needed to be surrounded with everything positive, along came this moment of reuniting with my best friend forever since I was 12 and cousin Anna after a long, long while. We were chatting on Facebook that morning about my problem and we decided that it would be better if we met up that lunch time.
With the infinite choices there are for an eating place at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA), and with the modest budget we had, it was most refreshing to have been brought to GALLENERA which made my moment with Anna the most perfect. What could be more pleasant about MOA than its view of the Manila Bay where GALLENERA is situated. It didn't really look inviting at first from the outside but when we took a look at the menu posted by the door, the prices looked friendly on our budget and the choices looked good - Filipino dishes with a twist. So we entered and lo and behold, we were welcomed by a refreshing interior with a modern and homey Filipino design. The service was just right with our waiter who wasn't over-friendly, though I didn't take note of the serving time because I was too occupied with bonding again with Anna. The food wasn't bad at all with a serving portion that won't really satisfy a pig-out but at least fulfilling to the taste and just enough to fill the stomach. It was such a blessing to be in an elegant place with one of the most important persons in my life.
Anna and I, just like the old times, talked about the most personal things in our life. After eating, we went around the mall window shopping. In that moment, I felt like a young girl again. So, just when I needed something positive amidst this trying time in my life, my prayers did not really show solutions to my problems. It gave me something better - a wonderful day with Anna.
